Partida Añejo, an old friend

partida-anejo-bottleWe first tried Partida Añejo a couple of years ago and the verdict from our friends was that it is spicy and makes you feel, well … a little bit randy. We’ve enjoyed it ever since. But with so many tequilas in our bar, I forgot about it for a little while, until we had my brother’s punk band (Have Nots: http://www.myspace.com/havenotsboston) staying with us a couple weeks ago and they declared it a band favorite. Maybe it was the randy factor, but Partida (which is sometimes translated as “the game” in Spanish) is definitely a crowd pleaser, so get your game on.

Here is our review, using Taste Tequila’s unpatented method:

Aroma: It has a moderate nose of agave and earthy, woody flavors with just a hint of cinnamon.

Taste: It starts with a smooth, full-bodied, vanilla and toasted agave flavor.

Finish: This is where this tequila stands out. It ends with a spicy finish that hits you mid-throat. There is coherence in the taste from beginning to end. Agave is still very present, but smoothed.

At around $55-$60 a bottle, depending on where you shop, this is definitely a tequila that will impress your friends, even novice tequila drinkers. The spicy finish makes it stand out from others smooth and well-rounded añejos.
